Situated in an 18th-century building, B&B Il TOMOLO overlooks one of the most charming squares in Agnone: Piazza Plebiscito, once known as Piazza del Tomolo. This historic spot, where the Palace of Power and Justice once stood, owes its name to the “Ru Tumbre,” a stone block used in the past to measure grain.
Today, the square features a beautiful marble fountain from 1881, erected to celebrate the construction of Agnone’s first aqueduct. Located at the convergence of seven streets leading to various corners of the old town, the B&B Il TOMOLO is nestled right on this square. Housed in an 18th-century building, the B&B offers quiet rooms overlooking either the square or a peaceful courtyard. The rooms are furnished with restored family heirlooms and are equipped with heating and private bathrooms.
The B&B is easily accessible by car and offers nearby paid parking, as well as free parking in the immediate vicinity. Just steps from the property, guests will find the “Ripa” viewpoint, a green area with a playground, café, restaurant, minimarket, butcher shop, tobacconist, post office, and some of Agnone’s most beautiful churches. Also nearby is Palazzo San Francesco, home to the prestigious Municipal and Baldassarre Labanca Libraries.
Thanks to its strategic location, B&B Il TOMOLO is an excellent base for nature excursions and for reaching the nearby ski resorts of Capracotta (20 km), Roccaraso (42 km), and Campitello Matese (50 km). Within an hour’s drive, one can also reach the seaside towns of San Salvo, Vasto, and Termoli, traveling through the picturesque valleys of the Verrino and Trigno rivers.
