The Sciarretta family is one of Termoli’s historic lineages, with a legacy in seaside tourism that spans nearly a century. Over the decades, family members have founded and managed numerous beach establishments, playing a key role in the development of the city’s coastal tourism.
The family’s story begins with Bassantonio Sciarretta, a carpenter and timber merchant who, in the 1920s, opened Il Nettuno, one of the area’s very first beach resorts. Il Nettuno quickly became a beloved retreat for those seeking relaxation by the sea, but its operations came to an end in 1943 due to the events of the Second World War.
Just before the war, Salvatore Sciarretta, Bassantonio’s son, launched another seaside venture: Il Sirena, later renamed Lido delle Sirene. Managed by successive generations of the Sciarretta family, this lido remains a popular destination for both tourists and locals. Over the years, Salvatore’s children and grandchildren have carried forward the family’s tradition of hospitality, transforming Lido delle Sirene into a symbol of Termoli’s seaside culture.
The Sciarretta family stands as a deeply rooted presence in the town’s tourism heritage—an enduring example of passion, dedication, and adaptability. Their commitment has preserved the authentic spirit of Termoli while consistently offering high-quality service to generations of beachgoers.
