The ROCCHIO agricultural company, family-run, is located in the Volturno Valley, between the Mainarde mountain range to the northeast and the Matese massif to the southeast, in a plain crossed by streams such as La Rava and Ravigone. Established in 2004 by Liberato Rocchio, who sought to give practical form to his passion for beekeeping and agriculture—handed down by his parents Filippo and Maria—the company engages in a mixed production model: beekeeping, horticulture, and olive cultivation. It has always focused on enhancing typical local crops best suited to the terrain.
The farm offers an on-site shop and a barbecue area, providing an opportunity to enjoy a relaxing day in nature while tasting healthy, genuine, and natural products from the Molise region. A new tourism development project has also been launched in the municipality of Pozzilli, aimed at promoting rural, historical, and nature tourism through the concept of Slow Tourism—sustainable and immersive travel experiences.
The initiative includes the creation of a dedicated area with camper parking spaces and prefabricated wooden housing units. The company’s website supports the project by offering detailed guides and information on local sites and tourist paths.
Two main tourist routes are planned: “Among Medieval Villages and Castles – Archeo Trekking and Biking,” a 9-kilometer itinerary linking the 10th-century Castle of Santa Maria Oliveto with the 11th-century Castle of Roccaravindola; and “Trails and Nature – Natural Trekking and Biking,” which climbs the old municipal road to Filignano and leads to the National Park Reserve.
This project aims to attract visitors interested in rural tourism and outdoor excursions while supporting the sustainable economic development of the area.
