Caseificio Sassano, located in Vinchiaturo in the heart of Molise, is a shining example of Italian dairy excellence. Founded in 1963 by Nicola Sassano, the company has remained family-run, growing from a small artisanal workshop into a modern industrial operation, all while preserving its strong ties to local traditions.
Production is based exclusively on 100% Molise milk sourced from carefully selected farms, ensuring the highest standards of quality and freshness. Among its flagship products are the Caciocavallo Silano DOP, made with just three ingredients—raw cow’s milk, rennet, and salt—and the Burratina, a fresh stretched-curd cheese filled with cream.
The dairy is also a pioneer in environmental sustainability. It has implemented an innovative process that transforms whey, a byproduct of cheese production, into biogas. This biogas is then used to generate electrical and thermal energy, significantly reducing CO₂ emissions.

The product range is extensive and diverse, including bocconcini, nodini, braids, stracciatella, fior di latte, scamorza, and ricotta—also available in lactose-free versions to meet a variety of dietary needs.
