Autumn

Autumn in Molise is an intense season, rich in colour and offering plenty of opportunities to experience the region through all the senses. The landscape transforms: the woods turn red and gold, the air grows cooler, and the produce of the land takes centre stage. This is the time for harvesting olives and grapes, and for festivals dedicated to truffles, chestnuts and new wine.

Although the villages become quieter, they are still very much alive, with fairs, markets and village festivals revealing a rural way of life that is still very much in evidence. This makes it the ideal season for lovers of autumn cuisine and those who travel in search of intense flavours and stories rooted in the territory. The quieter, lesser-known roads beckon you to get lost, stop at a winery, visit a small local museum or enjoy the ever-changing landscapes.
