Cantina Cianfagna was established in 1999 in Acquaviva Collecroce, in the heart of Molise, as a natural continuation of the family farming tradition that began in 1860. The winery is dedicated to producing high-quality artisanal wines and extra virgin olive oil, using only estate-grown raw materials cultivated through sustainable techniques.
The vineyards, located at about 500 meters above sea level, cover 4 hectares (3 of Tintilia and 1 of Aglianico), nestled in hilly terrain with a breezy climate and strong temperature variations. The clay-rich soil and carefully chosen positioning ensure an ideal pedoclimate for viticulture. Yields per hectare are intentionally low to produce high-quality grapes, grown without irrigation and treated only with sulfur and copper. Vinification follows traditional methods, without chemical enhancements or the fixed presence of an oenologist. Sulfite levels in the wines are lower than those permitted in organic production.
In addition to wine, the estate produces Gocce d’Oro extra virgin olive oil, made solely from estate olives, 50% Leccino and 50% Gentile di Larino. The olives are handpicked between late October and early November, directly from the tree to best preserve their organoleptic qualities. The oil is notable for its fruity flavor and the typical spiciness of a freshly milled product. The olive groves, also located at 500 meters above sea level, benefit from a microclimate with wide temperature fluctuations, which naturally limits pests and eliminates the need for chemical treatments. The low yields, due to the hillside location, ensure a genuine, natural, and top-quality olive oil.
