Biferno DOC is one of those wines that leave a lasting impression. Born among the hills that follow the course of the Biferno River in Campobasso province, this wine tells the authentic story of Molise: discreet, straightforward, yet full of character. It is a historic appellation, recognized since 1983, expressing the region’s diversity and richness through its three main identities—red, rosé, and white.

Biferno Rosso, made primarily from Montepulciano and Aglianico, is full-bodied and enveloping. It reveals fruity and slightly ethereal aromas on the nose, while on the palate it is dry, well-balanced, with soft tannins and a structure well-suited for aging—especially in the Superiore and Riserva versions. The rosé, fresher and more floral, maintains good structure, making it ideal for warmer months or lighter dishes.

Biferno Bianco is crafted from Trebbiano Toscano, Bombino Bianco, and Malvasia. It’s a pale, elegant wine with delicate aromas and refreshing acidity—perfect for seafood starters or traditional light dishes.

What makes Biferno DOC particularly valuable is its versatility: enjoyable when young, yet even more rewarding with age. It’s a wine of “boundaries,” in the best sense: uniting noble southern Italian grapes with rural traditions, passion for the land, and artisanal care.

To choose a Biferno DOC is to rediscover a sincere, genuine Molise—one that speaks through its vineyards. It is a wine that accompanies, tells stories, and surprises. And sip after sip, it invites one to return.
