The Church of San Francesco d’Assisi in Limosano, dating back to the 13th century, stands as one of the most remarkable examples of religious architecture in the region. Originally attached to the Monastery of the Conventual Friars, the complex has preserved its historic layout and continues to serve as a cultural and community landmark.
Inside the church, visitors can admire five painted medallions on canvas created in 1778 by Vincenzo Rossi, decorating the choir and presbytery. Of particular interest is the carved walnut choir, beautifully inlaid, along with two walnut confessionals, both dating to the 17th century.
Next to the church lies the monastic cloister, fully restored in 2006, which still retains its original structure. This peaceful, evocative space also functions as a community gathering place due to its proximity to shops and town life.
An architectural gem where sacred art, history, and local life meet in harmony.
