Longaniello Waterfall

Nestled in the Riserva Naturale Orientata, the Longaniello
Waterfall is a pristine natural treasure, where the stream of the same name plunges into a scenic natural pool known in local dialect as the “Cundra”, meaning “cradle”.

To reach it, visitors follow a wooded trail that traces the path of the Lorda stream, a tributary of the Volturno River, offering breathtaking panoramic views along the way. The trail becomes steeper heading east and immerses hikers in the sounds, scents, and sights of untouched Molise nature.

Near the waterfall stand the remains of an ancient rock-hewn church, evoking a sense of mystery and spirituality. The village of Longano, perched on a hill above the Lorda, retains the serene charm of its medieval origins.
