Sapore di Mare was established in 2012 in Atessa, in the heart of the historic center of one of the most charming villages in the province of Chieti. After years of experience in the maritime sector and wholesale seafood management, two young entrepreneurs decided to embark on an ambitious and innovative project: to open a modern and functional fish shop that merges tradition with quality.
The venue, welcoming and strategically located among the artisan shops that once animated the town center, was completely renovated, creating a modern and functional environment. Inside, a laboratory was established to transform fresh fish into gastronomic products and ready-to-cook items, prepared daily according to high standards of quality, hygiene, and traceability.
From the start, the project stood out for its clear philosophy: short supply chain, absolute freshness, respect for seasonality, and accessible prices. This approach proved successful, and within a few months, the clientele rapidly grew, attracting not only locals but also people from surrounding districts and neighboring towns. By the second year, additional staff was required to meet the growing demand, especially in the seafood gastronomy sector, which became increasingly central.
In 2019, driven by the desire to grow and a love for their city, a new store was opened in Termoli, marking an important business expansion. Despite the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, rising operational costs, and European fishing restrictions, the business did not stop. On the contrary, it tackled these challenges by investing in process innovation and improving service.
Today, Sapore di Mare has become a benchmark for those seeking high-quality fresh fish, artisanal seafood gastronomic products, and a service based on transparency, dedication, and expertise. A story of passion, family, and determination that continues to grow under the sign of quality.
