Cantina Giagnacovo, a family-run winery, is based in San Biase, a small village in the Molise hinterland, in the province of Campobasso. This area boasts a long winemaking tradition, dating back to the 17th century, when vineyards were a primary resource under the Barony of San Biase. A document from the early 1800s shows that the land devoted to vine cultivation was among the most extensive in the region. Until the 1960s, wine production and trade played a central role in the rural economy of the area.
Today, Cantina Giagnacovo is dedicated to producing high-quality wines from traditional grape varieties such as Tintilia, Moscato, Aglianico, and Cabernet Sauvignon. Special attention is given to Tintilia, a grape with Spanish origins now recognized as indigenous to Molise—an increasingly valued variety known for its ability to deliver exceptional results for even the most refined palates.
Every step of the production process is carefully overseen: from soil selection and manual pruning to hand harvesting and vinification, all with the goal of preserving the organoleptic properties of the grapes. The unspoiled Molise landscape and artisanal craftsmanship contribute to the creation of natural wines, free from added sulfites, and aligned with sustainable practices and innovative techniques.
By striking a balance between tradition and modernity, Cantina Giagnacovo offers an authentic wine experience, one that reflects the identity and history of a truly unique territory in every glass.
